ABOUT ASHISH PAKHRE

I am working as an Assistant Professor (department of Psychiatry) at AIIMS, Bhopal. I completed MBBS from the reputed St. John’s Medical College, Bengaluru. After internship, i worked in medically underserved rural places of society for 2 years as rural medical service experience. I joined prestigious All India Institute of Medical sciences, New Delhi to do my post-graduation in psychiatry. I have been trained in extensive academic, clinical, research and leadership roles during my post graduation at AIIMS. I had participated in Global Network of Mental Health professionals in the development of Mental and Behavioral disorder in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11) by World Health Organization. I have completed my senior residency (psychiatry) from AIIMS, New Delhi and Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences, Delhi. I have been involved in numerous participation of high technical and academic standard at national and international workshops and academic forums on mental health. I have been involved in designing research protocols and scientific projects. During residency, I also worked at National Drug Dependence Treatment Centre, an apex centre for treatment of drugs addiction/substance use disorders in India. I have also served as a Research Officer to Assess Quality and Best Practices under District Mental Health Programme, India supported by World Health Organization, India and Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi at Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS, New Delhi. I have been quoted in media and newspapers on mental health related issues. I hold the vision to provide most up-to-date, evidence based mental health care to all the people of society with empathy and deep support and help them live life without suffering and develop innovative and technical paths to address existing mental health issues affecting all sections of society.
