About Ashay Jadhav

My journey in medicine began with the completion of my Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the esteemed Grant Medical College (GMC) in Mumbai, India. During my time at GMC, I was fortunate to receive a comprehensive medical education that laid a strong foundation for my career. Also, I completed an internship at the same hospital, which served as my foundation year equivalent (F1 equivalent). This experience allowed me to gain invaluable clinical exposure and develop essential skills in patient care and management.Driven by my fascination with sports medicine and a desire to specialize in this field, I pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Medicine. This program provided me with specialized knowledge and expertise in managing sports-related injuries and promoting athlete well-being. Subsequently, I transitioned into the field of sports, where I had the privilege of working closely with athletes, coaches, and sports organizations, further honing my clinical skills and understanding of sports medicine principles.Recognizing the importance of staying abreast of international medical standards and best practices, I undertook the Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) exams, which enabled me to gain eligibility for medical practice in the UK. This journey not only broadened my clinical horizons but also reinforced my commitment to delivering high-quality patient care on a global scale.Currently, I am in the third year of my Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Sports Medicine at DY Patil University in Mumbai, where my research focuses on the application of electrocardiography (ECG) in Indian athletes. This doctoral journey has been intellectually stimulating, allowing me to delve deep into the complexities of sports-related cardiac issues and contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge in this niche area.Through my academic pursuits and clinical experiences, I have cultivated a multidisciplinary approach to healthcare, emphasizing collaboration, innovation, and patient-centered care. My ultimate goal is to leverage my skills and expertise to make meaningful contributions to the field of sports medicine and improve the health outcomes of athletes and individuals alike.I have completed Resus Council ALS certificate and clinical attachments in Respiratory Medicine & Acute Medicine at NNUH, Norwich UK and in Trauma and Orthopedics at East Surrey hospital, UK.
