About Anup Sakekar
I am working as a Scientist at Laurus Bio. I specialize in engineering bacteria (E. coli and Bacillus), yeasts (Pichia and Saccharomyces) and filamentous fungi (Aspergillus and Trichoderma) to express proteins of interest. My expertise involve microbial genetic manipulations, molecular biology and synthetic biology. I have Doctorate degree from IIT Bombay, Mumbai in Biotechnology. My work was focused on developing fungal protein expression platform in Aspergillus niger. I also worked as a project assistant at two CSIR labs where I worked on two different projects involving process development for fish peptone production at CSIR-NCL and identification of microbiome in oxygen minimum zone found in sea at CSIR-NIO. I have Masters degree in Microbiology from University of Pune.
