About Ankit Awasthi
Dr. Ankit Awasthi is an Assistant Professor of Law (Senior Scale) and the Head of the Centre for WTO & WIPO Studies, SLT at Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur. He serves in multiple key roles at HNLU, including Faculty Coordinator for the Internship and Recruitment Coordination Committee, Alumni Connect, Faculty Advisor for the Kautilya Society @HNLU, established under the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, New Delhi, and TradeLab@HNLU, a chapter of the Centre for International Trade and Investment Law (CTIL), India. Dr. Awasthi teaches a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including:• Undergraduate: International Trade Law and Professional Ethics • Postgraduate: Law and Justice in a Globalizing World and General Principles of Corporate LawHis research primarily focuses on institutional reforms to enhance corporate governance in India. With over 12 years of teaching and research experience, Dr. Awasthi has made notable contributions to the academic and professional legal community.Dr. Awasthi is actively associated with several prestigious international organizations, including:1. Founding Member and Executive Committee Member of the Environment and Sustainability Chapter and Member, the Legal Education Chapter of the Asian Law Schools Association2. Member, IUCN Commission on Environmental, Economic and Social Policy Before joining HNLU, Dr. Awasthi was a Lecturer at Amity University, Lucknow. He also interned under Hon’ble Mr. Justice J. M. Panchal, Judge, Supreme Court of India, and at Indian Oil Corporation Limited, where he prepared a project report titled \"Nature and Scope of Public Corporations and Control Over Their Power.\"Dr. Awasthi has an extensive portfolio of scholarly works. He has served as the Faculty Coordinator of the HNLU Student Bar Journal and is currently an editor for various legal journals. Dr. Awasthi has successfully organized several prominent national and international events, such as:• HNLU–SICI International Conference on International Trade in Marine Life and Fisheries (25–26 March 2023)• International Symposium on Global Trade Dynamics: Digital Economy and the Rule of Law in collaboration with UNCITRAL Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific under UNCITRAL Asia Pacific Days 2024 (6 December 2024)Dr. Awasthi’s extensive teaching, research, and administrative expertise, combined with his affiliations with international organizations and his contributions to legal academia, reflect his commitment to advancing legal education, research, and practice globally.
