ABOUT ANIMESH PAUL

Currently, I am working as a Lead Researcher at the Veolia R&D Center, Bangalore, where my research primarily focuses on the design and formulation of cost-effective and high-performance corrosion and scale inhibitors for applications across both the upstream and downstream sectors. Prior to this role, I gained over two years of R&D experience at the Hindustan Petroleum Green R&D Center, Bangalore, where I developed strong expertise in the formulation of environment-friendly and biodegradable synthetic lubricant (Group-V) esters, the design of multifunctional additives for hydrocarbon-based fuels and finished products, and process optimization for biofuel production from renewable feedstocks. In addition, I am also engaged in development of novel and cost effective formulations of paint thinner, floor cleaner, defoamer, emulsifier and antiscalant. Besides this laboratory research work, I have gained strong expertise on blend optimization, scaling up of different in-house products, making of TDD & SOPs, and troubleshooting. I obtained my doctorate degree from the Department of Chemistry at Jadavpur University. During my Ph.D. course, I have been well trained and acquired strong expertise in the design and synthesis of visible light harvesting multimetallic (FeII, RuII, and OsII) complexes which are potential building blocks in various applications involving dye-sensitized solar cells, photocatalysis, bio-imaging, drug delivery, molecular machines, and multichannel optical sensors. I have published 12 research articles throughout my research career in the reputed international journals. Finally, I am familiar with handling various instrumentation techniques i.e. NMR, FTIR, SC-XRD, Spectrofluorometer, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, XRF, TCSPC, GPC, IC, ICP-OES, GC-MS, HPLC, MS, TGA, CV, HFRR, Four ball tester, RPVOT.
