Seasoned educator and researcher with 20 years of experience in PK-22 education, research and evaluation, and public policy, specializing in establishing statewide programs, strategic planning, military affairs, and building impactful partnerships. Focused on driving innovation through collaboration, data-informed decision-making, and sustainable solutions that strengthen educational systems and drive policy. Experienced in professional development design and delivery of project-based learning, authentic educational immersion experiences, standards-based instruction, academic coaching and instructional alignment, backwards design, and leadership development. Established North Carolina’s Promising Practices Clearinghouse, a nationally recognized resource hub with nearly 200 evidence-based innovative practices. Created a website with interactive heat map to identify the practice origins and diffusion of innovation for practices that have been replicated. US Army veteran, military (retired) spouse, and North Carolina K-12 military liaison, focused on military-connected data collection and analysis, ASVAB curriculum alignment, and the Military Interstate Compact. Developed North Carolina’s Purple Star Award Designation in 2019 and maintained significant growth of the award over the past 5 years.
