ABOUT ANDY BAILLIE

As a clinician with over 15 years of postgraduate experience in the NHS and private sector, I bring a diverse and robust portfolio in Emergency Medicine, Disability Assessment, and Medical Education. EMERGENCY MEDICINE: As an Emergency Medicine consultant, I have led several initiatives-Educational Leadership: Implemented daily teaching sessions during multidisciplinary handovers-Police Liaison: Facilitated communication between emergency services and law enforcement-Morbidity/Mortality Lead: Analysed patient outcomes to improve practices-Project Leadership: Instituted a feedback mechanism for prehospital clinicians-Staff well-being- led a project to highlight issues with work intensity during the night shift. This piece of work was instrumental for the increase in out of hours staffing. DISABILITY ASSESSMENT: As a functional assessor in disability assessment medicine, I conducted health assessments for state benefits (ESA, UC, Industrial Injuries) and generated detailed reports for the DWP. This role enhanced my communication skills through daily interactions with frail and vulnerable individuals. I also served as a GMC appraiser during my time in this role. SPORTS AND EXERCISE MEDICINE: I have worked pitch-side across various sports, culminating in my selection for the medical team at the World University Games in Taipei in 2017, providing care to elite student-athletes. MEDICAL EDUCATION: With a passion for teaching, I served as a Foundation Programme Director, overseeing FY1 and FY2 doctor training. I have been an ALS instructor since 2012, contributing to the education of diverse healthcare professionals. I have recently been recognised as having instructor potential for APLS. PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT COACHING: As a qualified coach with two formal qualifications, I have extensive experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS. I aim to further develop my expertise in Occupational Medicine and leverage my extensive experience to make impactful contributions in this field.
