The Engineering & Technical Manager Gelsenkirchen Refinery leads approx. 200 direct reports in 10 engineering teams. These engineering teams span a wide range of competencies: process engineering, process safety, instrumentation and electrical engineering, piping & statics, rotating, distributed control systems and safety instrumented systems, inspection (notified body), laboratory and engineering information management. ABOUT ANDREAS KAVOURAS
I have 20 years of professional experience in the refining and petrochemicals industry with 12 years inleadership roles and a continuously growing number of direct reports now exceeding 300 as a refinery sitemanager.During my career I built considerable capabilities as a senior level leader and managing director with competent use of key behaviours at influencing, team building, presentation and negotiation skills togetherwith a strong performance and results orientation. By nature I demonstrate deep analytical, conceptualand technical skills combined with strong people skills and an outstanding competency to deal with complex topics and stressful situations. From experience I command exceptional expertise in production & operations, commercial optimization, business development, production planning and performance management.Further to my personal competencies I gathered a broad knowledge base across a number of refinery systems combined with profound experience in handling JV operations as well as B2B experience in a petrochemicals / specialty chemicals business. In my late program manager role I set up a program with interdisciplinary matrix organisation staffing to tackle a backlog in infrastructure maintenance and regulatory compliance to consolidate a large scale refinery and petrochemicals production site.
