ABOUT ANDI RROKU
Dr. Rroku is currently working as a clinical and interventional cardiology fellow at the Deutsches Herzzentrum der Charité - Berlin, Germany. He is deepening his expertise across internal medicine, cardiology, cardiac surgery and intensive care medicine while being formed as a modern cardiologist.As a graduate of LMU (Ludwig Maximilians University) in Munich, Germany (2018), he successfully contributed as a doctoral researcher and doctoral student speaker at ISAResearch Center at the Deutsches Herzzentrum Munich (TU Munich - MD/PhD program). Doctoral Thesis involving „ Intravascular optical coherence tomography (OCT) for neointimal tissue characterization in coronary artery disease and in-stent restenosis”.Furthermore, being able to follow his passion for clinical research in interventional cardiology focusing into instent-restenosis, stent thrombosis OCT/angiography-based tissue analysis; he is discovering a new path focused on structural heart-pathologies involving transcatheter treatment of mitral, tricuspid regurgitation and percutaneous treatment of aortic stenosis. Actively involved in and coordinating several research projects in the field of left atrial appendage closure (e.g, DZHK-Study \"CLOSURE-AF\").An active contributor to cardiovascular research, Dr. Rroku serves as reviewer/editor for journals including ESC Heart Failure, EHJ–Case Reports, Journal of the American Heart Association and Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine. Additionally, since 2024 he is currently serving in the EAPCI Educational Group, shaping educational content and training in interventional cardiology.
