ABOUT ALEXIS KATECHAKIS
Dr. Alexis Katechakis is a senior executive in the field of sustainability and corporate responsibility (CR) with many years of experience in sustainability (strategy development, change management, trainings, workshops, moderations), as communications consultant and spokesperson (product, corporate, crisis communications) and as research scientist (marine sciences, forestry, ecological economics). Alexis has worked with a broad scale of industries like healthcare, automotive, food, retail, science and technology across the globe. He is currently the Managing Director of fors.earth, a leading sustainability strategy consultancy in Germany. His consulting background includes major brands such as Evonik, MAN, EDEKA, DSM, Carglass, MVV Energie, ADAC, Novartis or Volkswagen, associations like Considerate Hoteliers, New Food Systems and the Association for Vertical Farming, as well as start-ups like Veramaris and agrilution. Alexis holds a Diploma and PhD in Biology with a focus on Marine and Freshwater Ecology from Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel (GEOMAR) and Ludwig Maximilians University Munich (LMU), respectively, as well as a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Resource Management with a specialization in Ecological Economics and Forestry from Technical University Munich (TUM). He is author of numerous peer-reviewed articles (see below and for details) and is regularly asked for as speaker and university lecturer. His heart beats for the preservation of our natural resources and especially for the protection of the oceans #SDG14.
