ABOUT AISHWARYA GUHA
I have completed my Ph.D (CSIR Senior Research Fellow) from Chittranjan National Cancer Institute, Kolkata. My expertise is in the field of cancer immunology. We are focused in exploring the interaction of various immune cells like Tcells, macrophages, dendritic cells and platelets with cancer cells and cancer stem cells, with special emphasis on cancer stem cell mediated EMT, metastasis and metabolomics. I have been trained to work directly with clinical samples that includes pre-operative patient blood and post operative breast tumor samples. A part of my thesis work is directed towards deciphering the impact of \'tumor educated platelets on breast cancer stem cells\'. Through numerous in-vitro and in-vivo assays including 3D organoid culture, matrigel mediated migration, invasion and tube formation assays along with the aid of techniques like flow cytometry, western blot, RT PCR, qPCR, SEM-Confocal-Immunoflurescence microscopy and siRNA mediated knockdown, we have elaborated the interactions between tumor educated platelets and breast cancer stem cells.
