About Abhishek Kumar Verma

I am an academician and computational drug discovery researcher with expertise in structural bioinformatics, molecular dynamics simulations, and rational drug design. I completed my PhD in December 2025 from Manipal University Jaipur, where my research focused on the computational identification of novel inhibitors of Mycobacterial NaMN adenyltransferase (NadD)—a key enzyme in the NAD biogenesis pathway of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.Currently, I serve as Assistant Professor I of the Department of Biotechnology at JECRC University, Rajasthan, where I am actively engaged in academic leadership, curriculum development, teaching, and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students. Previously, I worked as an Assistant Professor at Jai Minesh Adivasi University Ranpur Kota Rajasthan teaching Bioinformatics, Biomolecules, Bioenergetics, Nutritional Biochemistry, and Enzymology.My research integrates structure-based and ligand-based drug discovery approaches, including virtual screening, molecular docking, pharmacophore modeling, molecular dynamics simulations, and MM/PBSA–MM/GBSA free energy calculations. I am proficient in computational tools such as AutoDock, GROMACS, AMBER, and SWISS-MODEL, and my work spans antimicrobial drug discovery, protein–protein interaction targeting, allosteric inhibition, and natural product–based therapeutics.I have published 40+ research articles in reputed national and international journals and have received several academic recognitions, including the Dr. Ramdas Pai PhD Scholarship and the Best 3-Minute Thesis Award at the Manipal Research Colloquium.I actively participate in scientific conferences, workshops, and collaborative research initiatives and am keen to build interdisciplinary collaborations in bioinformatics, computational biology, and drug discovery.
