About David Pomeranz
I have worked in the public, not-for-profit, and for-profit sectors. Beginning with the 20••••13 flu season, I enrolled and assisted Local Public Health Departments or LPHDs (a.k.a. municipal Boards of Health / Health Departments) and Public School Districts (PSDs) with the “MassHealth Flu and Adult Vaccine Program for Local Public Health Providers”. Since June 2013, I have reviewed MassHealth non-dental provider contracts such as those of individual providers and institutional entities, have identified a variety of problems with these contracts, and have ensured their correction. In September 2014, I became a key member of the MassHealth Dental Provider Work Group that has expedited the consummation of dental provider contracts. On behalf of the Assistant Secretary for MassHealth, I countersign dental and non-dental contracts. I have updated the MassHealth Provider Operations Department’s Internal Control Plan (ICP) that summarizes the Department’s activities including our oversight of our customer services vendor, MAXIMUS. In January 2015, I significantly updated the ICP by editing and password-protecting its appendices. Since January 2013, I have been producing a monthly Excel report for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health on newly enrolled providers who are eligible to bill MassHealth for immunizations. Previously, I worked on state and federal health reform, marketing, survey research, managed care, health services research, and quality of care. I performed project leadership and business analysis in the areas of physician reimbursement systems under Medicare, Medicaid and Worker’s Compensation, claims and enrollment processing systems, contract negotiation, documenting patient workflow processes, continuous quality improvement, information technology (IT), and proposal writing. Specialties: • Project Leadership • Policy and Business Analysis • Health, Education, and Workforce Development • Proposal Writing and Grant Administration
Experience
Program Coordinator Iii in Provider Operations Department
Apr 2012 — Present · Boston, MA, US
My first project was the development and implementation of the “MassHealth Flu Vaccine Program for Local Public Health Providers\". For the 20••••13 influenza season, MassHealth contracted with municipalities’ Local Public Health Departments or LPHDs (Health Departments / Boards of Health) and public school districts (PSDs). The program’s goal is to reach eligible low-income populations that are not covered by private insurance or Medicare. MassHealth pays LPHDs and PSDs for administering the flu vaccine to MassHealth members of all ages, and for purchasing the flu vaccine that is administered to MassHealth members 19 years of age and older. On August 20, 2012, I emailed enrollment packets to 212 LPHDs and PSDs. On January 17, 2013, I sent an \"email blast\" to 271 LPHDs and PSDs about program changes. As a result of Massachusetts\' Senate 2400 of the Acts of 2012, I worked on developing a provider application for Physician Assistants; Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists; Psychiatric Nurse Mental Health Clinical Specialists; and Limited Services Clinics.
