ABOUT DARREN MOON

I\'m a digital education specialist with twenty years\' experience designing, delivering, and leading technology-enhanced learning in higher education. My work sits at the intersection of pedagogy and technology – I\'m motivated by what digital tools make possible for teaching and learning; how they can expand, extend and enhance education. At LSE, I lead a team within the Eden Centre\'s Digital Education function, supporting academic colleagues across multiple departments and contributing to institution-wide strategy on AI in education, assessment innovation, and digital change. I\'ve led projects ranging from platform migrations and procurement to pedagogical pilots and service evaluations. I also contribute to LSE\'s PGCert in Higher Education and have co-designed and co-taught undergraduate courses in visual international politics, visual research methods and multimedia ethnographies—work recognised through student-led teaching awards and high scoring teaching evaluations.Beyond LSE, I hold a Visiting Fellowship at the University of Sydney Business School, where I deliver workshops on use of audiovisual media in assessment and have contributed to award-winning course development and co-presented at international conferences with students and faculty. I\'m also an Associate of the Centre for Higher Education Transformations (CHET) at the University of Bristol, contributing to sector-level discourse on digital transformation in HE. Since 2024, I\'ve co-chaired the Academic Practice and Technology (APT) Conference, a unique cross-institutional collaboration between LSE, King\'s College London, UCL, and Imperial. My specialist areas include: visual and media-based pedagogies and assessment; students as producers / student partnership approaches; generative AI in higher education teaching and learning; digital education strategy and change management; learning technology evaluation and service design.I\'ve presented at international conferences including OEB, INTED, LINQ, ASCILITE, and MOBTS Oceania, and have contributed to publications on student-led media production and interdisciplinary curriculum design. Earlier in my career, I received multiple sector awards for project-level innovation work in learning technology, including ALT Learning Technologist of the Year (Team) and the QS-Wharton Reimagine Education Awards Gold.I\'m always interested in conversations about digital pedagogy, visual methods in the social sciences, and the future of technology-enhanced learning in higher education.
