David Perry is an accomplished CEO, entrepreneur, and industry veteran with over 40 years of experience building and scaling technology-driven companies.Most recently, he served as Co-founder & CEO of Carro, a pioneering commerce partnership platform that raised over $50 million from prominent investors including Alpha Edison, PayPal Ventures, GC1 Ventures, Corazon Capital, Blue Ivy Ventures, and Cove Fund.Prior to Carro, Perry was Co-founder & CEO of Gaikai, a groundbreaking cloud gaming company that delivered high-end games to internet-connected devices and websites. Gaikai was acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment for $380 million cash, where Perry spent five years contributing to future PlayStation initiatives. Gaikai investors included Benchmark Capital, NEA, Intel Capital, and Qualcomm.Earlier in his career, Perry founded Shiny Entertainment, creator of iconic game properties such as Earthworm Jim (later adapted into a TV show and toy line), MDK, Sacrifice, Messiah, Wild 9, and R/C Stunt Copter. Shiny was acquired multiple times, including by Atari, Interplay, and Foundation 9.Perry has also led development on numerous major licensed properties, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Terminator, Dan Dare, Paperboy, Smash TV, Aladdin, The Simpsons, and The Matrix, often bridging entertainment, technology, and advertising.An acclaimed author, Perry wrote “David Perry on Game Design,” published by Charles River Media. He holds an Honorary Doctorate in Engineering from Queen’s University Belfast and an Honorary Master’s Degree in Game Development from Westwood College.Today, Perry is focused on a self-funded, stealth initiative exploring advanced AI-driven video technology, short-form entertainment, and next-generation creative workflows.
