I am a people-centric leader and people are the heart of any business. I approach problems with people in mind. It may or may not be my idea, but it is my job to get my people bought in so they feel the same ownership I do. Every person joins a new company wanting to succeed, I will fight with and for my team, both vertical and horizontal. I am often called on to provide leadership to new in position or struggling leaders, they too want to be successful. I scaled the Utah Medicare Sales center to 800+ agents by placing people first. I started with the relationship with recruiting, I established a culture where sales and recruiting were one team, working together to get candidates in for interviews. Then I partnered with the training group, providing experience training with real time challenges faced by agents. When agents left the training environment they were comfortable with the process and knew their entire leadership team. When agents and leaders moved to the sales floor we met often. We built connections, since people work for people. I taught my leadership team and they in turn taught their teams how to spend time, how to navigate Medicare sales, how to be effective and efficient on the phones, how to interact with customers and how to do it compliantly. Scaling a large call center was not done by me alone; it took an army of recruiters, HRBP’s, trainers, content creators, leaders [existing and new] and a finance team that authorized the expense.After many years in interstate retail I moved into Medicare sales. I have now spent nine AEP’s (Annual Enrollment Period) in the Medicare space. I selected Medicare since this population is vastly underserved. I sold as an agent for a short time, learning the product. Then moved into leadership roles, allowing me to increase exponentially the impact on this business.When I am not at work (and I love to work), you will find me spending time with my family, grabbing a bite to eat, attending a concert, taking a weekend road trip or visiting extended family. Outside of family I can be found outside running early in the morning, training for a long bicycle ride or on the ski slopes.
