About Dp Suresh
Dr. D.P. Suresh is a highly respected leader in cardiovascular medicine whose career spans clinical excellence, research innovation, dedicated service to patient care, a strong community focus, and a leader in systems of care with both national and global impact. He received his undergraduate MBBS from the prestigious Madras Medical College in Chennai, India. Following which he moved to the U.S. for further education. His training from residency in internal medicine to fellowships in cardiovascular medicine, interventional cardiology, heart failure and cardiac transplantation spans from Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center to the University of California San Diego and the University of Cincinnati. He recently also completed the physician CEO program at the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University. Dr. Suresh currently serves as the Executive Medical Director of the Heart & Vascular Institute at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, where he oversees clinical strategy, innovation, and program development. Dr. Suresh has held numerous leadership positions, including serving as the President of the Board of Directors in Cincinnati, Greater Midwest Affiliate and Greater Midwest Board with the American Heart Association, and is currently the Science Co-Chair for the International Committee helping in advancing quality and certification programs in 13 countries around the globe. He has contributed extensively to national committees focused on quality improvement, strategic planning, and health policy. Dr. Suresh’s academic contributions include invited lectures at major national and international conferences, authorship in peer-reviewed journals, 65 clinical trials, and mentorship of fellows and residents. He has practiced and contributed to the field of interventional cardiology, heart failure, and programmatic development over the last 25 years. Dr. Suresh, along with physician leaders and senior leadership in administration, helped establish the Florence Wormald Heart and Vascular Institute at St. Elizabeth Healthcare and continues to advance its impact on the greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky communities; working to not only advance clinical practice but also shaped the strategic direction of cardiovascular care delivery across institutions. His work in cardiovascular medicine has earned him several awards with the American Heart Association including the 2024 Dr. Creighton B. Wright Healthcare Leadership Award for advancing heart and brain health, and the prestigious 2024 Ron Haddock International Impact Award.
