ABOUT DOYINSOLA AGUNBIADE
I am Senior Researcher - Africa Region with Edinburgh Peace Institute, specialising in post-conflict peacebuilding, identity conflict, and peace processes. My expertise is in international conflict analysis, conducting extensive research on transforming the shifting dynamics of identity conflicts, and addressing violent conflicts through democratisation markers.With a PhD in Peace and International Conflict, I have examined the role of international actors in Côte d’Ivoire’s peace processes My research spans peacebuilding strategies, multi-track diplomacy, and the intersections of political systems with conflict resolution. I am a fellow of the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation, New York USA and a mentor in the British Academy’s WARIA Program, The British Academy Elevate Programme where i am contributing to advancing scholarly discourse on African conflict dynamics.Beyond research, i have experience in policy advisory roles, teaching, and capacity-building initiatives, particularly in security and governance. I have presented at international conferences, published extensively, and remain engaged with institutions such as the British Academy, Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP), Africa Studies Association of the UK (ASAUK) and the Development Studies Association UK. With a commitment to evidence-based peace solutions, my policy research continues to influence regional and international strategies for sustainable peace and stability in Africa.
