ABOUT DOUGLAS SCHOENBORN

Nationally and internationally recognized law enforcement subject matter expert and trainer for 38 years, specializing in the field of tactical operations, executive protection, police operations and crowd control. Recognized as a regional and international expert in crowd operations, having trained in many countries teaching foreign police officers crowd response tactics. Instructed many courses for foreign police officers as part of many long-term and short-term missions abroad in crowd operations. Duties have been to research the needs and assessment of foreign police entities and provide specialized law enforcement principles and training for their agencies. Deployed to many civil disturbances in the United States and abroad. The most notable deployments were the Los Angeles Riots of 1991 and 1992, the Democratic National Convention in Denver in 2008, the Olympics of 2002 in Salt Lake City and civil disturbances throughout the nation of Haiti during a year long mission in that country. Certified armed police officer with full police powers during tenure. Service ranks of officer, sergeant and lieutenant with collateral duties of officer-training and incident management. Certified police trainer for the State of Idaho, Department of Homeland Security and the Boise Police Department for over twenty years of tenure. Department spokesperson for media inquiries, public presentations and policy testimony before the legislature. Implemented the crowd control philosophy, policy, training and operations of the agency.
