   Douglas Etkin is the Principal of Etkin, a full-service real estate organization engaged in the development, acquisition, management and marketing of office, industrial, retail, hotel and mixed-use properties. The company is also actively involved in fee-based property management and development services on behalf of third party owners. To date, Etkin has developed more than 60 high-profile properties consisting of over 9.5 million square feet of commercial space. As one of the leading build-to-suit developers in the Midwest, Etkin is often singled-out by major corporations and professional firms to develop and manage their facilities.Doug established the company in 1982 and has more than thirty-five years of experience in commercial real estate and development activity. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan Business School and Wayne State University Law School. His major responsibilities include leading the firm’s development, re-development and strategic planning activities.Doug possesses a strong commitment to his community; He is an executive board member of the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation, chairs its Strategic Planning Committee and is President of the Jewish Foundation of Metropolitan Detroit. He is also a past chairman of the Urban Land Institute Small Scale Development Council, and past Chairman of the Southfield City Centre Advisory Board.
