Covance was acquired by LabCorp of America Holdings in February 2015 and I was added to the larger LabCorp Sourcing team.As a Global Director- Strategic Sourcing within LabCorp, I am responsible for the overall management of my assigned analytical Suppliers for all LabCorp Business Groups, which include Covance globally. This is equivalent to approximately $400 Million in spend-Ensure adherence to company objectives, policies and procedures in all negotiations and Supplier relationships-Establish and standardize supplier agreements to support core labs, managed hospitals, and global laboratory locations as appropriate-Global negotiation and harmonization of key contracts-Oversee supplier performance to ensure Suppliers continue to meet expectations-Maintain knowledge of Supplier’s current services, capabilities, industry trends and technologies-Identify and implement improvement opportunities in contracting / negotiation for additional cost savings-Ensure appropriate communication and involvement of Suppliers to create an atmosphere of joint accountability for cost containment, quality, on-time delivery and overall relationship-Ensure that expectations, costs, contractual benefits are obtained for all targeted sites globally-Conduct due diligence on LabCorp company acquisitions. When LabCorp completes an acquisition, I negotiate the buy-outs of current instrument contracts, clinical supply commitment or non-compliance and move to LabCorp pricing where possible.
