For more than 30 years, I provided electrical services for Central PA. Currently, I am the President and part owner of DeRock Electrical Co. Even as a child, I always loved everything having to do with construction. I grew up with the dream of running my own electrical company while working with my dad in his business. Hard work, dedication and completing a job within budget and on time are my top business priorities.Solving a customer’s problem is what keeps me going. By approaching a job from a design build standpoint, I strive to help them get to the end point quickly. Through designing the electrical system up to current code standards, drawing the electrical design on Auto Cad and providing engineers stamps for township approval we can make that happen.My primary concerns are my customers. I will do what it takes to get each of them what they want, in the time-frame needed, no matter how complicated the work. Currently, I’m a member of the IEC, Independent Electrical Contractors, where I’m on the Instructor Review Committee for the IEC HACC Campus. I’m also part of the ABC, Associated Builders and Contractors, where I sit on the Building Committee.When I’m not working in business, I am spending time with my wife and son, in and around the community. We are often boating, ski racing, mountain biking, motorcycle riding and fishing.I’m also a Board Member of the SRRC, Ski Roundtop Race Club. Our company played a big part in the building of the Frank Shelbly Racing Center, which is located at the bottom of Exhibition Slope on Ski Roundtop. The facility is only 1 of 2 on the East Coast to have the DART FISH Training system in place for athletes to get instant feedback on their skills.The most important things in my life are my wife and son. I am a firm believer of setting high goals and standards that push me to reach new heights. No matter if I’m meeting with friends, family, contractors or a customer, my goal is to always leave them with a smile.
