About Douglas Daniel

I’m a graduate of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a background in politics, entrepreneurship, and organizational leadership. My work has focused on understanding real-world problems and building practical solutions through policy research, community service, and hands-on operational work.During my time at UNC, I conducted housing policy research with the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency and served in leadership roles across campus organizations, including Carolina Cars, the Dialectic and Philanthropic Societies, and the Undergraduate Senate. These experiences strengthened my interest in serving communities and thinking carefully about how institutions, policies, and local leadership shape people’s daily lives.I’m particularly drawn to work that bridges creative thinking with tangible execution. I enjoy taking ideas from concept to reality—whether that means building organizations, improving systems, or working hands-on to create something that directly serves others. At the core of my work is a desire to contribute to strong communities through thoughtful leadership, practical problem-solving, and a willingness to roll up my sleeves and build.

1. Head of Recruitment

   Education Symmetry Project

   Jul 2025 — Present

   Identify areas of need within the organization, create positions, and recruit talent to fill necessary roles, successfully recruiting 10 new team members. Assist in the creation and execution of outreach and recruitment initiatives, collaborating with 7 partner organizations to expand reach and engagement among target audiences (first-generation, transfer, and graduate students).
