About Doug Thompson
Dr. Doug Thompson believes in an evidence-based, interdisciplinary treatment model that coordinates dental care with other medical practitioners for total health care for his patients. He and his team apply these concepts daily and are the foundation of his successful clinical practice, Integrative Oral Medicine.Additionally, this core belief is what drove Dr. Thompson to share the oral-systemic implementation system he developed by founding the Wellness Dentistry Network (WDN). WDN is a global network of dentists and other healthcare providers who are employing these strategies which include: Dr. Thompson’s data-driven Total Mouth Disinfection protocol for Personalized Periodontal Medicine, resources for the co-management of patients by the medical/dental team(s), and an expansive library of team training and patient education tools. Dr. Thompson designed the WDN system to put knowledge to work in the daily practice of dentistry, by making a practical oral-systemic model that’s implementable and affordable for any practice. Dr. Thompson has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education in various dental and medical disciplines including the Bale/Doneen Method for Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention and most extensively at the multidisciplinary Kois Center in Seattle, where he is now Faculty. He also teaches his oral-systemic and Personalized Periodontal Medicine courses to dentists and dental teams around the country, and the world.
