ABOUT DOUG SKINNER

Doug is a partner at McInnes Cooper in the St. John’s office and a member of the firm\'s Board of Directors. He is the formal Regional Manager of the St. John’s office (20••••15) and Deputy Managing Partner of McInnes Cooper (20••••17). His practice is focused on the energy, construction and insurance sectors with a particular focus on commercial arbitration. Doug has extensive experience including royalty matters for the energy industry, construction arbitration, insurance claims and investor-state disputes. His experience also includes business dispute resolution on behalf of major project owners and insurers before all levels of Court.Doug has acted as lead counsel in the management and execution of several complex royalty arbitrations for the offshore industry involving joint venture client interests of significant financial value and two major construction disputes involving a large hydro-electric project. Doug was responsible for all aspects of dispute resolution including witness preparation, written and oral submissions both at the arbitration stage and in judicial review in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador.
