assess current waste management practices, social housing tenant profiles and implications for waste management practices, plus BC Housing\'s sustainability commitments -evaluate industry best practices, regional infrastructure and applicable regulations and requirements -collaborate with the Senior Strategic Advisor Sustainability to ensure understanding of BC Housing\'s sustainability mandate and objectives -develop and recommend a waste management plan, including clear and achievable waste diversion and management goals and strategies for all housing portfolios and regions -develop data and performance tracking systems and tools -plan and develop communication, engagement and training programs -assess new waste management innovations, changes in regulations and other such matters-develop, implement, manage and evaluate the province-wide waste management program -prepare and manage the annual budget and forecasts operating costs for the WM program in collaboration with the internal business partners -coordinate the development of service contracts -lead negotiations with the service providers and manage the contracts -maintain BC Housing\'s waste management database and tracking waste management costs -conduct waste audits and analyse and report on waste streams -perform field work such as spot checks of garbage weights on sites -assess and adjust solid waste infrastructure and service levels -ensure operational processes and procedures are compliant and consistent with established policies -assess the effectiveness of solid waste management programs against established goals and targets -monitor the materials and waste systems needed by regional, municipal and provincial regulations and make changes to the program as appropriate -provide advice and support as a resource for regional staff -implement and manage community engagement and education programs -work on relevant projects related to climate change and sustainability
