About Doug McLaurin
After working in strategy consulting at Marakon for 5 years, I am now pursuing an MBA at Columbia to prepare myself for the next chapter of my career. At Marakon, my project work focused on consumer-packaged goods, financial services, and industrials clients, and it allowed me to become proficient in critical thinking, strategic analysis, financial modeling, valuation, and managing cross-functional teams. I helped companies determine the best course of action given their financial constraints and risk tolerance, and I helped Marakon develop an innovative proprietary analytics tool that augments its consulting offer for banking clients. After refining my leadership and analytical skills at Columbia, I hope to build on my consulting experience by working directly for a consumer-oriented firm in a strategy, rotational, or management role.
