About Doug Goodman

Dr. Doug Goodman is a Professor in the School of Public Administration at the University of Central Florida. He is also a John C. Stennis Fellow at the John C. Stennis Institute of Government and Community Development at Mississippi State University. Dr. Goodman’s current research interests focus on comparative public administration, state and local government, at-will employment in the public sector, human resource management reforms, managing public employees following catastrophic events, and public sector retirement. Dr. Goodman has two co-edited books, Texas: Yesterday and Today—Readings in Texas Politics and Public Policy and Contested Landscape: The Politics of Wilderness in Utah and the West. His publications appear in journals such as Public Administration, Review of Public Personnel Administration, Political Research Quarterly, Human Resource Development Quarterly, Public Personnel Management, Politics and Policy, Public Administration Review, and American Review of Politics. Dr. Goodman serves on the editorial boards of Public Administration Review, Journal of Public Affairs Education, Review of Public Personnel Administration, and Public Personnel Management.
