About Doug Ford
Currently responsible for the Training and Development organization for Wells Enterprises Operations group. Our primary focus to upskilling our technical disciplines (Maintenance, Refrigeration, Electrical, Process Controls), our front-line supervision, and our skilled labor groups. My responsibilities span 4 different plants with training resources in each facility along with overall program management for the Wells Operations training programs.Previously Responsible for leading Continuous Improvement efforts for the Wells Demand Organization (Marketing, R&D, Sales). Currently Projects-Building a Portfolio Managment process for the Enterprise-Improving the product Commercialization process-Improving the NPD (Stage gate) process Previously responsible for establishing a Lean continuous improvement culture/execution for Wells Enterprise\'s South Ice Cream Freezer and Transportation Logistics group (the largest freezer/shipping warehouse in the world). Formerly responsible for the CI culture/execution at the South Ice Cream plant which is one of the largest Ice Cream production faciliteies in the world.• Responsible to execute projects to reduce cost/waste in outbound distribution.• Assisted in the creation of a CI organizational structure to ensure alignment with Wells’ business strategy as well as build bench strength for future leaders in the organization. • Developed and implemented CI plans to improve SQDC that delivered a $6mm savings goal for 2007,$8.2mm in 2008, and $9mm in 2009• Conducted several training sessions for all levels on Lean tools and techniques• Lead the implementation of “Managing Daily Improvement” for Operations which included: o Implementation of Standard Work (line and Supervisor) o Implementation of Hour by Hour board process o SQCD boards and Line Board meetings o Root Cause problem solving• Project Managed the re-implementation of SPC for the enterprise• Mentored 10 Six Sigma Green belt trainees to receive their certification in 2007• Led/co-led/participated in multiple Shop-floor Kaizen, Business Process Kaizen, and Value Stream mapping eventsSpecialties: Six Sigma Black BeltSix Sigma Green BeltSME Lean Bronze certified
