About Doug Durbin
Doug Durbin began his career as a master cabinetmaker’s apprentice. In 1983 with his brother John, Doug founded Exclusive Woodworking, a leading manufacturer of architectural millwork and custom cabinetry. In 1989 the brothers founded nuHaus on Chicago’s north shore to focus on design, manufacture and installation of fine architectural millwork and cabinetry. Doug leads the nuHaus design team and is the recipient of many awards from the prestigious Sub-Zero/Wolf Kitchen Design Contest, including his most recent awards for best showroom in the United States and best kitchen in the Midwest. His work is widely published in regional and national shelter magazines.In addition to designing product lines for Canadian cabinet manufacturer, Downsview, Doug regularly consults with Sub-Zero/Wolf Appliance on new product design and prototype development. Doug designed a kitchen area for Sub-Zero/Wolf’s Westye Group’s Midwest Living Kitchen showroom in Glendale Heights, Illinois and was recently commissioned to design the premier display for B/S/H Thermador which can be seen at Abt’s showroom in Glenview, Illinois.
