I was promoted to Sergeant effective September 20th, 2018. I worked on swing shift as a patrol supervisor until April 2020. I was also a supervisor of our field training program and for our Crisis Negotiations Unit as collateral assignments. In April 2020, I became the supervisor of the department\'s Gang Unit, and I gave up my collateral assignments to focus on the new role. This transition occurred to fill a gap for the agency, and the assignment was for an indefinite period of time. In January 2022, at my request I transitioned back to patrol where I was a supervisor for a group of officers during weekday afternoons and evenings. In April 2022, I was moved to day shift on patrol to fill a vacancy due to staffing issues. I also temporarily took over again as the supervisor of the Crisis Negotiations Unit, finally stepping away in January 2024. As of January 2025, I am back on swing shift again. If there is one constant in this business, it is change and the need to be flexible and adaptable!
