ABOUT DOROTHEA KEELING
In 2011 Dorothea created L.A.U.G.H.S. For Autism, a health and wellness program that incorporates the use of humor and laughter to help parents, family members, providers and caregivers attending to the needs of a child with autism to better maintain a reclaim their sense of humor during difficult and challenging stressful situations. L.A.U.G.H.S. For Autism is an innovative program that is supportive, informative, educational and inspirational. The workshops were designed to enrich the lives of the participants and to help some to laugh at things that happened when the attendant to a child with autism. While there may not be a cure for autism humor and laughter can play an important role in managing the stress associated with caring on parenting for a child who is autistic. Sharing humor and laughter needs to be appreciated and part of any intervention for it to be effective. Because laughter is one the best feelings in the world!
