CTIA Wireless Foundation has been at the forefront of wireless-driven social innovation for over 30 years. Today, the Foundation funds early-stage social entrepreneurs and their innovations that leverage wireless technology to address pressing societal challenges, including those around veterans, healthcare, education and more.As Executive Director, I provide the strategic vision for the Foundation. I created Catalyst, our signature initiative, as a competitive grants program reflecting the entrepreneurial spirit of the wireless industry. We provide early-stage funding to visionary social entrepreneurs using wireless technology to create scalable impact.Over the past five years, Catalyst has awarded more than $1 million to social entrepreneurs tackling education, healthcare and veterans\' health and wellness - helping provide innovative wireless solutions to millions of Americans. The program prioritizes diversity and inclusion. This year, 77% of applicant organizations are led by a person of color, 59% are led by women, and 12% are led by veterans.Through Catalyst, the Foundation develops engagement opportunities to educate policymakers and regulators at the state and national levels on mobile-first solutions addressing pressing challenges nationwide. I lead business development for the Catalyst program garnering funding from wireless industry leaders such as Qualcomm, AT & T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. The Foundation has assets of $35M with complex investments. Our staff team expands and contracts with shared resources from CTIA to maximize effectiveness throughout the calendar year.CTIA Wireless Foundation is shaping a future where connectivity fuels opportunity and lasting impact.
