I’ve always found joy in service. Through a tough childhood, I recognized my natural ability to connect with people regardless of background or status, a skill rooted in my love of serving others. I was raised in upstate New York by my great grandmother from age 2 after the death of my mother, then moved to Los Angeles at 15.Despite my early challenges, I was convinced there was a better life ahead and it was up to me to achieve it. A few years after high school, I moved from Los Angeles to Washington, DC and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Howard University and a Master of Science Degree in Management from Catholic University while working full time. I started a career in Hospitality Management, aligning my talent for connecting with people with my love of service. I also took on volunteer work at my local church orienting new people and teaching teenage girls interviewing skills and workplace etiquette.I turned my “joy of service” into a career with roles in sales, human resources, and client engagement, all nurturing connections through conversation. I call this my “purpose” and the reason it was an easy transition to become the Director of First Impressions at Alterra Advisors.After years working in Washington D.C, I now feel at home amid the natural beauty of the pacific northwest. I enjoy hiking, exploring the city, reading, working out, and trying new vegan restaurants with the new friends I’ve made.
