Experienced materials scientist and microscopy expert with 15+ years of experience applying advanced microscopy techniques to characterize materials on multiple length scales. Currently serving as Senior Transmission Electron Microscopist at Microsoft Quantum Hardware Group, where I structurally characterize quantum hardware devices. Previously held positions at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a Senior Technical Staff Member and performing electron microscopy, FIB/SEM, EBSD, TKD, xray CT, FESEM, SAED, STEM, EELS, GDOES to further understanding of material structure property relationships. Also served as Assistant Professor of Physics at Appalachian State University. Award-winning educator with a passion for developing the next generation of scientists. Recognized for outstanding contributions through roles as Chair of the Fellow Committee for the Microanalysis Society and Physical Sciences Director for the Microscopy Society of America. Hold a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from North Carolina State University. Experienced in techniques including TEM, STEM, EDX, EELS, and more. Over 35 refereed publications in top materials journals. Looking to leverage my expertise in electron microscopy, materials characterization, and passion for teaching to further impactful materials research.
