Works on an array of complex intellectual property matters, including patent litigation; patent preparation and prosecution; providing legal opinions regarding patentability, validity and infringement in all areas of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and chemistry; and due diligence patent reviews. Extensive experience in patent interferences, reexamination and reissue proceedings as well as appeals to the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences.Active in IP litigation group, in particular ANDA litigation, participating in all phases from pre-litigation review to trial and appeals to the Federal Circuit.Admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.Serves as a member of the Editorial Board for publications of the American Bar Association\'s (ABA) Intellectual Property Law (IPL) Section, and is also a member of the ABA-IPL Patent Reform Task Force. Appointed as a vice-chair of the Patent Office Practice (US) Committee of the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO). Is a Member of the Board of the Boston Patent Law Association and co-chair of the Contested Matters Committee. Served as an editor of AIPLA Quarterly Journal from to 2003Specialties: Substantial experience in interference practice, including all phases of patent interferences. Concentrates on pharmaceutical chemistry, biotechnology (such as immunology, antibodies, genomics, bacterial technology, proteins and polypeptide work), and specialty chemicals (such as polymers).
