About Donna Sakony

I am currently a Tax Principal in the Cleveland, Ohio office of BDO USA. I have over 28 years of public accounting experience in the area of taxation providing business and personal tax compliance, tax research, and tax planning services for a wide range of businesses. I am responsible for all aspects of tax services for clients from planning and administering tax compliance functions, supervising professional staff, and serving as the key client relationship partner. I have a heavy concentration of experience in the real estate and construction industry and also have significant experience in other industry segments including manufacturing and distribution, healthcare, professional services, technology, and automobile dealerships. My extensive experience includes working with passthrough taxation including compliance, exit strategies, and partnership transactions. My planning and compliance experience extends to a variety of individual investors and business owners. I have worked with a wide range of ownership structures including closely held family businesses, private equity sponsored organizations, and publicly held businesses. I am a current member of the AICPA, OSCPA, and CREW (Cleveland Real Estate Women). I was previously a board member and membership director for CREW and former member of the American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA). I was also a former Ambassador for Council of Small Enterprise (COSE) and coach for Girls on the Run.
