ABOUT DON IVESON
I thrive on big problems people tend to think are impossible to solve. I enjoy bridging divergent perspectives on tricky issues, either on project teams or through formal boards. So, after 14 years of elected public service at Edmonton City Hall, I founded Civic Good, a practice providing strategic advice on climate resilience, housing affordability, and adaptive governance. I maintain a passion for cities and communities: building and driving them to innovate and compete, to be uplifting and just, and to be resilient and sustainable.I\'m very happily engaged primarily with Co-operators half-time as an Executive Advisor to their Resilience Acceleration Lab, where we work on developing and investing in climate adaptation projects and climate-resilient infrastructure in communities across Canada. As Principal of Civic Good, I also advise governments, NGOs and startups in areas ranging from cleantech to modular housing, and serve on several boards, including chairing the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, Canada\'s sixth-largest financial institution.
