ABOUT DON SCARAMASTRA

I help businesses resolve significant disputes, typically in the millions of dollars or more. Most involve claims for insurance coverage, disagreements over business acquisitions, antitrust, or breaches of contract. I also accept (and enjoy handling!) appeals in federal and state court. I have particular experience developing tools that help businesses better manage litigation costs, select strategy, tactics, and objectives, and boost predictability. Though I\'ve had plenty of success and experience in trial, arbitration, and appeals, most disputes end in negotiated resolutions or early dismissals. So much of my recent work has focused on developing tools and methods to achieve client objectives as early and cost-effectively as possible. I\'m frequently commended by clients, colleagues, and adversaries for my skill as an advocate who can effectively prosecute difficult and hotly contested matters while simultaneously laying the groundwork for resolution if and when circumstances warrant it. A compliment I often hear from happy clients is that I\'m \"not like other litigators.\" I\'ll take it. I enjoy speaking on these issues at industry conferences, leadership and employee trainings, and elsewhere.I\'m not too bad at cooking either.
