WORK HISTORY
Senior Consultant on Regulatory Reform @The World Bank Group
My main field is Regulatory Delivery - how to make regulatory systems work in practice. This is important not only for delivering public goods but also improving economic growth. It is strongly tied in with Public Service Reform through the institutional issues that need to be tackled in making enforcement systems effective, especially governance and performance management. My UK background as a Whitehall \"Mandarin\" is fully utilised, in addition to my specialism in Regulation. The projects range from Regulatory Impact Assessment and policy-making, through Compliance Management to Risk-based Enforcement. Countries where I have worked with different parts of the WBG are Armenia, Azerbaijan, China, Georgia, Greece, India, Iraq, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Palestine, Romania, Russia, Rwanda, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Vietnam.I have a special interest in Food Safety regulatory systems and have been working since 2014 with the Global Food Safety Partnership in China, advising the China Food and Drug Administration.
