About Don Stone
Don Stone is CEO of Dewberry, a 2,500-person,$525 million family-owned professional services firm located in Fairfax, Virginia. A water/wastewater engineer with technical expertise in design-build programs, Don joined Dewberry in December 2008 to serve as the firm\'s COO, among other roles, before being promoted to CEO in April 2010. Throughout his tenure as CEO, Don\'s focus has been on implementing the firm\'s strategic plan while consolidating and aligning the company\'s many engineering, architectural, and consulting services.Throughout his more than 40 years in the industry, Don has been responsible for overall operational management and development while managing several joint venture projects formed to expand business opportunities and execute complex projects. He has created a special purpose entity that allows for project financing of design-build, own-operate water and wastewater facilities.Don graduated in 1980 from The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, with a bachelor\'s degree in civil engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in multiple states and is certified by the National Council of Examiners for engineering and surveying.
