DONALD G. TYE is chair and partner in the Domestic Relations practice group at Prince Lobel Tye, LLP, in Boston. He received his B.A. from Tufts University and his M.S.W. and J.D. degrees from Washington University in St. Louis. Mr. Tye is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML). He was national co-chair of its Legislation Committee; and during 20••••10 he served on The Special Concerns for Children Committee, which was responsible for updating and revising the AAML’s standards for attorneys for children in custody or visitation proceedings, in 2011. He was president of the AAML Massachusetts chapter from 20••••07, and was received its “President’s Award” in 1998 and 2004. He has more than 30 years of experience as trial attorney, guardian ad litem, master, mediator, and arbitrator. Mr. Tye has prepared and argued numerous cases to the Massachusetts Appeals Court and the Supreme Judicial Court. Since 2004, he has been recognized as a “Massachusetts Super Lawyer,” and, since 2009, as one of the “Top 100 Lawyers in Massachusetts” as featured in Boston magazine. He has also been named a “Top Attorney in New England” by New England Super Lawyers. Mr. Tye was co-editor of the “Domestic Relations” chapter in Summary of Basic Law, a selection of the Massachusetts Practice Series (published by West Publishing Company) and was editor of the “Divorce” chapter in the Massachusetts Bar Association publication, Traps for the Unwary, and is principal author/editor (with Peter Kuperstein and Patricia O’Connell) of “Trying Divorce Cases in Massachusetts”, published in 2007, 2nd edition in 2010, and 3rd edition in 2013,by MCLE, Inc. Since 2012 he has served as a member of the statewide taskforce, Voice of the Child, appointed by the then Chief Judge of the Ma. Probate and Family Court Department.
