Don is a Founding Principal of Diamond Schmitt Architects, a global architecture firm designing transformative, purpose-driven, and highly sustainable buildings from its three studios located in New York, Toronto, and Vancouver. Diamond Schmitt’s visionary designs for leading cultural, academic, research, healthcare, and civic spaces can be found in more than 50 cities around the world.He is the Founding Chair of the Public Art Commission for the City of Toronto for which he was awarded the Civic Medal, formerly a Board Member of the Canadian Art Foundation, and currently a member of the University of Toronto Design Review Panel. He served on the Design Review Panel of the National Capital Commission, Ottawa for over a decade and on the Waterfront Toronto DRC. Don is Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, a member of the American Institute of Architects and a Member of the Order of Canada.
