About Donald Moore
Donald has enjoyed work in the arena of music education and previously enjoyed restaurant management. In his last position he built the band from 18 to 54. He enjoys developing music students, and all youth to their full potential. Donald has worked in music education for the last 20 years, where the groups he directed flourished from a beginning sound to superior rated ensembles. Donald’s winter percussion units have also ranked in the top in their respective areas. He has coached both large and small groups, soloists and competitive units. Donald is very proud of how he was able to serve his schools and communities. In addition to bands, Donald taught Choirs that achieved near-superior and superior ratings, one scoring a festival score of 114/120. Donald had had the privilege of studying the trumpet with Chris Bogios (San Francisco Philharmonic) and Dwight Cannon (Freddy Martin Band of Renown), Roger Muzzy, conducting with Higo Hirada and voice with Donald Haneke. After major education cutbacks in California, due to Proposition 13, Donald started his professional life in the field of restaurant management, where he worked for 15 years. He worked first for the Sambo’s Restaurant chain, followed by the Coco’s Bakery Restaurant chain and finally the Denny’s Restaurant chain. Donald had his heaviest impact as a General Manager within the Coco’s Bakery Restaurant Chain. While in that position, he was recognized for his management style,overall unit organization and how well his employees and management staff were trained. Through complete employee and management buy-in he was able to turn a failing unit into a financial winner, within two fiscal quarters. This unit achieved maximum bonus achievement, ensuring stability for his employees and increased incentive for them as well. He is proud of the impact he was able to give both his customers and employees alike, in addition to the results he generated for the companies he worked for.
