Donald L. Whitfill was a Chief Global Technology Advisor with Halliburton after joining Baroid June1, 1997. During his career in the petroleum industry he accumulated over fifty publications plus thirty patents. He was inducted into the American Association of Drilling Engineers Drilling Fluids Hall of Fame in 2012, plus receiving the Society of Petroleum Engineering Gulf Coast Regional Drilling Engineering Award. He has served in a variety of professional capacities throughout the industry including: Co-Chairman of SPE Forum on Lost Circulation and Wellbore Strengthening, 2011; Chairman, AADE Fluids Management Group 2008-10; Distinguished Lecturer, Society of Petroleum Engineers, 1987 and 2005; Chairman, API Committee on Standardization of Drilling Fluid Materials, 1985-86.
