ABOUT DONA PABASARA KANNANGARA
As an individual with a passion for exploring the intersection of economics and politics, I hold a Master\'s degree in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BSc.(hons) in Economics. During my studies, I developed expertise in subjects such as International Political Economy, Qualitative/Quantitative Research Methods, Econometrics, Political Economy of Trade, and China and the Global South. At the Commonwealth Secretariat, I provide research and policy support to the Social Policy Development section. I consult with member governments that are interested in strengthening their internal mechanisms for evidence-based policy making by developing national Youth Development Indices. I also work on building the capacity of youth stakeholders on youth mainstreaming and contribute to thought leadership on cross cutting social issues. Prior to this, I worked at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute, where I was a Research Associate in the Global Economy Team.In between, I\'ve worked with social enterprises, local NGOs, youth-led organisations in various capacities. My diverse experiences across different sectors, have allowed me to develop strong research, project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills. I am passionate about working on projects that contribute to sustainable development.
