About Don Steele

I am passionate about teaching and coaching. I started my career as a teacher and coach and within nine years I was selected to serve as the Superintendent of Schools in my home town of Saginaw, Michigan. I then served as Superintendent of Schools for the Toledo, Ohio Public Schools and the Seattle Public School District. In 1985, I founded Performance Learning, Inc. a business dedicated to educating, motivating and empowering athletes, entertainers, business and industry executives and government agencies, i.e. police, fire, prisons and the military. I integrated working with educational leadership addressing the trauma needs of teens and young adults in settings as varied as high schools, universities, prisons and camps for adjudicated youth. I have worked extensively as a speaker and consultant with several Fortune 100 companies on five continents. I have authored seven books; the most recent being “Undefeated\" the true story of the successful three generations Sheplers Mackinac Island Ferry Service. I am a professional entertainer (singer and guitarist) and I was fortunate to work with some of Nashville\'s greatest producers, song-writers and musicians. Working with these pros, I recorded and released two very successful albums -\"Let\'s All Pull Together\" featuring my duet with Tammy Wynette; and \"Renegade Heart\" with Willie Nelson. I still write and perform and will soon be releasing a new album entitled \"It\'s all in the Story\", songs that move emotions, written by gifted songwriters that deserve far more attention than they receive. Currently offering programs to business and industry that incorporates music into coaching and leadership development seminars.
