ABOUT DOMINIQUE MAGADA
I work as expert writer and consulting journalist for a number of United Nations Agencies, currently the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). In that capacity, I write and edit multilingual external publications, I place articles and editorial pieces in media outlets, and devise communication strategies. As independent trainer and adviser, I provide media training services for international institutions and private corporations, as well as journalists. I have trained officials at the European Parliament in Brussels and the United Nations in Nairobi, Rome, Addis Ababa and West Africa. Most recently, I was involved in a Thomson Reuters Foundation project (2020 to 2022) to train journalists in Ethiopia to increase coverage of child labour issues. Before working independently, l was a staff correspondent at Reuters and Bloomberg news agencies in London, covering financial markets and companies. I have a particular interest in the arts and I am the author of two books on the development of art under the influence of politics in Rome. I have just completed my third book, a non-fiction narrative about my time in Ethiopia, which I am looking to publish.
