About Dominick Boyd
I started in public service at 16 as a volunteer EMT. I learned early that in crisis situations, pattern recognition saves lives. That same skill now helps me stabilize organizations before they reach the breaking point.I built my foundation in medicine and public safety, working as a flight paramedic, studying premed, and developing the ability to make high-stakes decisions with incomplete information. Along the way, I discovered I could combine crisis response training with technical execution: I\'ve built 20+ applications, custom IoT solutions, and workflow systems that solve real problems for complex organizations.I led the development of a county-wide drone-as-infrastructure program that grew from early pilots to advanced operations with fully autonomous 200-foot BVLOS DFR capability. The program became a blueprint for how public sector agencies can use unmanned systems for inspections, emergency response, and post-hurricane damage assessment using AI. That project taught me how to take ambitious ideas and execute them in risk-averse environments.Today, I serve as Chief Human Resources Officer for local government, and I approach HR the way I approached emergency medicine: spot the early warning signs, diagnose the root cause, intervene before it escalates, and stabilize rapidly.I focus on culture repair, leadership clarity, practical AI integration, and building systems that make work easier and more consistent. My strength is solving messy organizational challenges by blending human factors, behavioral science, leadership coaching, and hands-on technology.
