ABOUT DOMINIC JULIAN
Aspiring physician-scientist training at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. Pursuing my PhD training with Dr. Rita Sattler at the Barrow Neurological Institute where I am using iPSC neuronal models to study how RNA editing may drive cellular pathology seen in sporadic and familial forms of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) & frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Planning to pursue combined residency & research training in the field of adult or pediatric neurology to care for patients while studying RNA biology & molecular pathways with the goal of developing therapies for early interventions in genetic brain disorders.Trail runner, marathoner, and cyclist outside of the lab and clinic. Engaged in multiple STEM mentorship opportunities for undergraduate and high school students planning to pursue medicine and science through BNI and UACOM-Phoenix.
